Parental Encouragement

The Great Tit chicks in one of my garden birdboxes are ready to fly the nest.. Here you see an exhausted parent coaxing.. I expect them to go anytime now..

Note the black steel plate I had to afix last year to stop the attack of a vicious Killer Woodpecker.. This has made the box the most impenetrable and sort after in the locality... so much so I'm considering increasing the rent :)
