A View From the Author

This morning I went to an excellent U3A talk in Fakenham by the author Elly Griffiths. She's written 15 books in the Ruth Galloway series which are based in North Norfolk. That series has now finished (or has it?) and a couple of days ago she released this non-fiction book called 'Norfolk - A photographic journey through the land of Ruth Galloway'. It 'takes us through a year in the Norfolk landscape, featuring the fascinating locations that have inspired her series and her writing'. The photographs are by the excellent Suffolk based photographer, Justin Minns. Living in North Norfolk, being a fan of the series and a keen amateur photographer, the book is perfect for me. She spoke for an hour about her background and influences, and her other series and future projects, then we were served tea, coffee and cake. As well as being a very good writer with a great sense of place, she's also an excellent and entertaining speaker. A lovely event.

This afternoon I moved and tucked up my pots for Winter as our first frost is due tonight, then I watched a documentary on Oppenheimer.
