I forgot to say that we had a frost yesterday morning - I've been back and added it in! It was barely zero, but enough to make a light covering on the car. This morning was faintly frosty too, again the sun was gorgeous all day!

We had two contractors in this morning - Andy the plumber to give the gas boiler its annual test and deck builder Will to lay a couple of slabs in front of the greenhouse door. We then did our usual Saturday morning thing - fish from the pier and books from the library.

It seemed a good day for a picnic, so rather than go a long way for a short menu we drove less than a couple of miles to Oban’s beach at Ganavan, with wonderful views out to Lismore and Morvern. We lunched in the car then went for a walk along the beach to the labyrinth, my extra for today - I can’t find out anything about its origin - and back along the path, before sitting out in the sun for a hour or so, reading the paper, doing the crossword and enjoying the view.

A good place for people watching, and at one point a gaggle of ladies kitted out in winter coats appeared behind us - Mrs M could hear them talking about wild swimming. They walked down to the water’s edge where a couple of them stripped off to their costumes and waded in! My Blip for today! I think it was part of a local group who call themselves the ‘Blue Tits’ - I really can’t imagine why!! November on the west coast? What’s the problem!
