Sunny journey
A red sky this morning, but never mind the Shepherd's Warning - I was going away! Mrs M drove me down to catch the 08.50 train to Glasgow - or actually only as far as Crianlarich, as rail works meant there was a rail replacement bus into Queen Street. We got there in plenty of time to walk the ten munutes to Glasgow Central and the 12.40 to Euston. On the way I took this picture in Glasgow's Buchanan Street - a typical Glasgow street scene! My extra today is what you don't want to see on arriving at the station to check your train time!
A good journey, with sunshine all the way, well until it got dark, that is! I had an idea to write a poem about our green and pleasant land, but all I could do at the time was to jot down what I saw - in the margins of the newspaper! Maybe something to do another time!
The worse news was to hear that the cafe boiler had broken down and there were no hot drinks!!
As always, arriving in London in time for the rush hour wasn't ideal - I had to stand on the Tube and beyond. It was a relief to get to my sister's and have a nice cup of tea!
I phoned Mrs M to hear that Susie had behaved well at the vet's. The diagnosis was as expected - old age and arthritis. I know the feeling! She was given a painkilling injection and we'll have to see how she gets on.
Quote of the Day: 'The only way to be sure of catching a train is to miss the one before it.' - Gilbert K. Chesterton.
