Remembrance Day.

I have been gardening as the weather has been so beautiful. More leaves collected but still plenty to come down from next door’s sycamore trees.

I had a walk down to the village to photograph the display in the little park by the roundabout.
The purple poppies are for the animals who were victims of war, especially the horses.
The mound and brickwork you can see in the top photo is the remains of one of the village air raid shelters. A fitting place for the display of poppies for Remembrance Day.
There will be a march from our village to the next and a short service at the war memorial, so the main road will be closed.
