Teal #70
What a fabulously sunny day it's been - cold, but sunny :)
We made an early start and drove to Leighton Moss to try and see the bearded tits in what looked like perfect weather for them.
As you all know, I'm not known for my patience, but we spent over an hour with no sign of them at the Grizedale grit trays before moving over to Causeway. As we arrived we just caught the tail end of a sighting with 3 birds on the trays. I managed exactly 5 shots, all of which were over exposed as the light was totally different to Grizedale. We hung around for another 35 minutes before I got cold and we moved on. At least we saw them!
The best hide of the day was Lillian's hide after lunch - lovely light and lots of ducks. I've not posted a Teal this year, so here's one having a little bath.
We had a wonderful day and even saw a new bird for the year at the Allen hide - a greenshank. Well worth the drive up there.
