Top in New Zealand
Together with Timaru (an hour up the road) Oamaru recorded the highest temperature in New Zealand today - 28degC. It was very hot. Then, around 3:30/4pm the wind changed direction and the temperature started to drop as the southerly blew through. Tomorrow the high is forecast to be 17degC.
I spent the morning getting sheets out on the line to dry in the breezy sunshine, cleaning some of the new windows and doing some dusting. I was very pleased to be able to hang out the side windows just a little and clean some bird poop of the big window in the lounge.
This afternoon we spent time with a consultant from another blind/curtain company, as we have decided that we need a couple more quotes. The first one was a tad eye watering. L was calm, not pushy and knowledgeable. It will be interesting to see what her quote is. We have another one tomorrow.
I took a photo of the beautiful cabbage tree in next door’s garden, which is flowering at the moment, through the sparkling clean kitchen window.
