We finally found a tree we liked……

……..to plant at the top of the garden as a replacement for the 50 year old Apple tree which expired this year.
We went out first thing to a nearby plant nursery, recommended by our friend and Blipper Rainette. A very helpful man who worked there helped us to find one, and the best way to plant it, and then stake it and tie it. So it stands firm without wind rocking it.
Stephen began to dig the very large hole before lunch so I took the photo,
As we were both going to be out this afternoon, I took the photo at lunchtime and then put the tree in the garage.
The hole is covered over by the old dustbin lid with a brick on top.
We have all the compost and bone meal ready for tomorrow, along with a stake and tie.
It is a Bramley Apple variety.
After we had lunch Stephen dropped me off to meet up with a friend for coffee, then went off to see a client for a Bereavement counselling session,
My friend brought me back home a little while ago,
It is now almost dark at 16:40.
The clouds have been scudding across the sky all day in the strong wind.
Now they are slightly tinged with purple pink.
As we drove to the plant nursery this morning the trees were shedding leaves in the strong wind, which were whirling about on the pavements and in the air, like so much golden, bronze and yellow confetti!

As for the news……..you couldn’t make it up…..David Cameron, ex Prime Minister, has been appointed as the Foreign Secretary! And has to have been made a Lord in the process in order to take up the position!
Great that Suella Braverman has been sacked, but I ask you,,,,!!!!!
How is it that there was simply no-one else in Parliament who could be the Foreign Secretary!
And the latest news from the States saying that Trump is in pole position to be the next President as things stand right now!
It really beggars belief! (Or not if you are Trump supporter).
