Wound up in Wexford

Saxifrage on the pot stand

Back blipping on Thursday morning.

We found the plant stand in the antique shop in Wexford back in July.  It stood empty for some time, and I had originally thought it would go in the sitting room.

I found a nice plant that has droopy babies - a saxifrage.  And after potting it up and putting it on the stand, I decided it actually looks better in the hall.  It will look even better when the hall is less cluttered, and been decorated.  It'll also look better in a posh pot.

We hopefully have a painter coming later this month, but the hall isn't on the schedule for this visit - it'll be the areas we spend most time in at the moment.  Next year maybe?

We noticed yesterday that the house seemed colder - we have geothermal underfloor heating,  and run it mainly at night, to take advantage of the night time cheaper electricity, so it was difficult to be certain, but this morning we are absolutely sure - the pump has packed up.  It had tripped the fuse - W tried resetting, and it tripped again within a few minutes.

We were so fortunate to have found Sean "geothermal", who serviced our heating back in March - when W sent him a message this morning, he rang us shortly after and will find time to visit today.  Whether he can mend the existing pump remains to be seen - we were aware it is probably 20 years old.

You'll have to wait for an update till I blip for today!
