Wound up in Wexford

Sean "geothermal" ....

.... arrived at 4,30, and by 6.30 had sorted our heating.  A capacitor had failed, and there was some burnt wiring.  He replaced the capacitor and the wiring, reassured us that the heat pump itself (dating from 2006) was in generally good condition and should last us a good few more years, and waited to make sure the heating came on when switched on.  Wonderful service.  We're so lucky to have found him.

Such a contrast to some folk we have been attempting to contact.  We have leaking gutter joints, and have been trying for several days to contact someone to deal with this - he keeps saying he will call back, but doesn't.  And we're having similar problems with someone to sort out our TV connection.

And to cap off our recent hassles, driving home from band rehearsal last night I noticed there was a 10cm long crack in the bottom corner of the windscreen.  I hadn't been aware of any stone strike, but there it was.  Not a chip, but a long, curving crack.  We'll need a new windscreen.  Fortunately largely covered by our car insurance. I contacted the windscreen folk (via the insurance company) who took details and said they would ring back shortly, when they had confirmation that the insurance would cover it - but haven't.   I anticipate having to ring again tomorrow to chase it up!
