Heron

Had a church meeting after church so this afternoon we went for a wander down by the ponds.
There didn't seem much going on at present but then we met the swans. Mum was swimming around with the one cygnet, Dad was dementedly tearing up reeds for over 15mins - don't know why.
Then there were 4 varieties of gulls and a duck with one baby.
Must be a blip among the photos, I thought.
Well, there was, but on crossing the burn on the way back Mr Rat noticed the heron so it was a load more pics. He was skulking in the trees but then emerged and stalked across the burn.
Must go and make the tea in a few minutes.
