I had an appointment to get the brakes checked on my truck this afternoon and they had told me that if I could, to drop it off earlier so they could have a look and see if any parts were needed. As it turned out nothing needed to be done, although one side is more worn than the other. They will be fine for the winter, and I can get them done in the spring when the safety inspection is due. Two of the tires did need to be balanced so they did that. Cost - $41.00. A good day when you walk out of a mechanics shop with a bill of less than $200.
Before I dropped the truck off I went for a walk at Shubie. Most of the leaves are gone off the trees now. Just some oak leaves and the beeches remain. There were lots of chickadees and squirrels around wanting to be fed. Some of the squirrels will take a peanut from my hand. The chickadees will hover right in front of me while waiting for me to get a handful of seed from my pocket. They must think they are hummingbirds. They seem to know who has seeds for them.
After I picked up my truck this afternoon I drove out to Eastern Passage. They are getting things ready for Christmas at the shops there. They are supposed to turn the lights on on Saturday evening, but we have a rain and windstorm in the forecast for Saturday. The downtown Christmas parade has already been postponed for a week due to the weather forecast. I had hoped to go to a craft show in the valley on Saturday, but I doubt that I will get there.
