Amble Harbour
The first full day of my workshop started at 6:15am when we collected outside the hotel before dividing into 3 cars for our dawn shoot on the beach looking toward Dunstanburgh Castle. The pre-dawn sky had tantalising hints of colour, but by the time we had crossed the golf course and got down onto the beach denser cloud had bubbled up. Still it was an interesting stop (extra 1).
We then headed to Alnmouth for "look for the details" shots across the estuary at low tide from both sides (extra 2) - and plenty of mud with only one of the workshop leaders remembering their wellies. Glad I wasn't one of the drivers inviting muddy boots into their car!!
Our final stop of the day was at Amble Harbour with the opportunity to try out long exposures of the south pier lighthouse. By now the light was fading rapidly, and there was no sign of any sunset, so it was time to return to Bamburgh for a welcome group evening meal in one of the local pubs.
A good day!
