In business
A message at 9.40 from S to say he was about to have breakfast and would then come round to help B put up the door canopies. We moved ourselves to be ready for action, as he only had a couple of hours before he was rushing off to watch the spacex_starship launch on TV.
Whilst they worked away I moved the gardening things into the potting shed. It wasn’t raining but the ground was soaking wet and squelching. Not easy to keep the lovely clean wooden shed floor clean, but the cardboard box the the canopy kit came in was cut up and used as protection. We have rubber mats from the old shed, but they need a good hose down and scrub before using as they have been on the garage floor for the last 6 months.
I reuse polystyrene boxes, that our meat deliveries from Donald Russell arrived in over many years, to store pots and other stuff. I’ve moved them on to the shelves and when spring comes I will have a good cleaning session to wash the mats and pots. I just need a warm, dry day and plenty of energy.
Many of the pots that contain the plants and cuttings brought from Lincolnshire are beginning to disintegrate, something that I’ve not experienced before. Pots get reused, so may be quite old.
Stuff moved and space created in the garage, we then tidied up and organised the space. We have a couple of wooden items to go to the tip, which just fitted into the back of my car. A quick snack for lunch at 3pm was taken.
After all our success it then started to rain …..heaved it down. No trip to the tip, will have to be another day.
I then warmed up a beanie and had a nap on the settee. An old lady can only do so much at a time:0)
