Arriving on a jet plane

Up at 5am this morning to go to Heathrow Terminal 3 to meet Emma returning to the UK after 3 years in Australia. She will be staying with us until she sorts out a job and somewhere to live. It was dark and very wet getting to the airport, not a happy combination for the M25, which was busy even at that unearthly hour.  Thankfully the rain had stopped and it was light for the journey home. Emma's plane was due at 6.15 but didn't land until 6.39 and it took her an hour to get through passport control and baggage retrieval by which time the arrivals hall, which had been practically empty when I arrived, was awash with newly arrived passengers and those greeting them. The extras were taken when I arrived at Terminal 3 at around 6.10am.
