Aliens in the Next Block

Tell the truth now—don’t you want to draw eyes on this creature?  And, no, I don’t know what it is. I mean yes, I don’t know. I have no idea.

We finally got a big fast rain last night. The street drains around here couldn’t handle all the water and there’s a backwash of mud in all the crosswalks. A good pile of mulch in the backyard floated up onto the patio and has to be raked back out to the garden. I was in about two inches of water when I went out to get the paper at about 530 this morning; I had to take it apart and drape the pages over the dining room chairs, not a very hard job, since it’s a very small newspaper. The puzzle was dry before I finished my coffee. Seems like an awful lot of to-do over a few hours of rain.
