634 day of war
Hello, friends!
Just a couple of days ago, we were walking in the park and feeding squirrels hiding in the autumn leaves, and today the first snow has fallen. Winter is getting closer, and you can feel it.
Currently, we have daily air raid alerts, but there are no missile strikes on cities. Russians are conducting reconnaissance, identifying targets for future attacks, and waiting for the freezing temperatures to cause the most damage to the energy infrastructure. Air raid alerts last for many hours, as their planes practice mid-air refueling, sometimes multiple times during one flight. This also paralyzes the work of all cities, as during air raid alerts, shops and all institutions cannot operate.
But now everyone understands that missiles are unlikely to come anytime soon, so most shops continue to work even during alerts. We wait for about half an hour, and if there are no missiles, we go about our business.
People around are actively preparing not for Christmas but for power outages and cold weather. Shops service generators, people buy candles and batteries. There is no more panic or fear; everyone is simply doing what is necessary for survival.
It seems that humans can adapt to anything, even to war.
Although a harsh winter is ahead, and it's already getting quite cold in the apartment, I feel better than in the past months because there are more orders and work before Christmas, so there's something to keep busy with and something to eat.
It's very difficult to maintain mental balance now, which is crucial in our situation, so I try to watch the news less and engage in activities more, and it helps, even if not always. I also realized that I've been meditating daily for three years, and it seems to be yielding results. It becomes easier for me to clear my mind of intrusive thoughts and find positive things in life. Even though sometimes it seems that everything is very bad and there's no way out, I reassure myself that it's temporary, and life has different periods that we need to go through. And over time, everything will get better. The main thing is to continue believing and fighting, no matter how challenging the surrounding conditions may seem. I believe that everything will be fine.
I also want to thank everyone for their support and help. It means a lot. Thank you!
