new walking club
Jim and I went walking with a new club today and had a great 10 mile walk in the Lowther Hills. The walk started in Wanlockhead a village in Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland, one mile south of Leadhills at the head of the Mennock Pass, which forms part of the Southern Uplands. At 1531ft (467m), Wanlockhead is Scotland's highest village.
The scenery in the area is stunning, although today was rather overcast, making the views good if not great. On the otherhand, the weather was very good for walking - it did not rain - and it was warm, rather than hot.
We enjoyed the walk and the club members were very welcoming and we are looking forward to more walks with them.
