Arundel
Filthy weather all day. We had a lazy morning and smashed peas and poached egg for breakfast before going into Arundel to look around. It was wet and misty but we found a few galleries and shops and I actually managed quite a bit of Xmas shopping. We had a light lunch in the tap room of an artisana brewery which was fun and lively. This gothic revival catholic cathedral is dedicated to St Philip Howard, one of the 40 martyrs and a reminder of the Catholic roots of the neighbourhood. It looks amazing on the skyline across from the castle (did you go there from Avisford @xtoph1 ?)
Back to the hotel for tea and a a cosy read in the room before dinner. Jonathan and Trish came over to join us for a slightly better chosen dinner than last night!
