Changeable
Overnight rain meant that the hound and my morning walk was a bit muddy. There was a sea mist too which added to the maritime atmosphere.
Mr had checked the forecast last night and wanted to visit the coastal town of Alnmouth. However last night's rain was scheduled for today. It appeared he'd checked Cambridge's forecast instead. So Alnmouth will be on tomorrow's schedule.
Mid morning headed to town for a few supplies and treats. Had cheese and onion pasty from Trotters bakery and salad for lunch.
Read a bit after lunch while it drizzled outside and mist blocked our views.
By early afternoon the sun emerged to lure us to the beach. The light is changeable and yields wonderful beach reflections and highlights sea foam.
Sadly there is some pollution on the beach in the form of light brown foam looking like dirty soap suds. Luckily I'm not barefoot. There are brave surfers.
Extra - Heading home as the sun was dipping I caught the golden light on the field opposite our cottage.
As I'm writing the wind is howling outside at 40mph and rain lashing the windows. I'm in my element and if the windows were open we'd hear the tide coming in.
The hound is exhausted but is enjoying his walks. He's a bit frightened by dogs charging towards him in play on the beach but is fine if they aren't near. It's all a new experience for him and he's getting accustomed to his new surroundings.
Pleasant evening everyone and stay safe.
