Au Revoir

Today was the day we said 'Au Revoir' to our friends here in Belgium. We still have 7 weeks before we move, but we go on holiday on Wednesday for two and a half weeks, and when we get back a lot of people will be away. Also, we'll have a busy few weeks getting ready for the move, so we thought today was a good opportunity to see everyone.

We also invited my 'Blip' friends pictured above, and arranged to meet up an hour before our other friends arrived. It was lovely to see (from left to right) Mark 'Photos de Petit Frere', Jenny 'bsprout', Fiona 'Shoemum', Gilly 'gillybxl' and then myself (in the white trousers) and Karin 'bhennk' sat down.

Alan knows Fiona, and has already met Mark and Karin, but thanks to Blip he recognised Jenny & Gilly straight away, and we both felt like we knew their kids who are regular Blip stars :-)

Alan was our photographer today and enjoyed trying out everyone's camera to take our group photo. We had a great afternoon and received some lovely gifts which was totally unexpected - we're very fortunate to have some lovely friends who we'll miss, but thanks to Blip and other social networks, it will be easy to keep in touch. Both Mark and Karin have said that they will see us in Brighton when we move, and hopefully our other friends will too!

In other news, today is Father's Day, and it's the first one without my Dad. So this morning we went for a walk to the Butte du Lion and stopped at the monument where we scattered his ashes - he may not be with us, but he's certainly not forgotten.
