Wemberlee...

After a busy day, it was into the car to drive to Royston. I was heading for London for a meeting with four friends who I hadn't seen for two years. There were engineering works this weekend which meant trains terminated at Royston. Sadly, when I got there, someone had just been hit by a train between Royston and Cambridge so trains were paused. Fortunately, a train was about to head south to London, although it was the slow train. After that I had a slow and busy tube train journey, As we got nearer to Wembley, the train got rammed with football fans. Found out later that England were playing Malta. A long walk to where we were meeting, but the pub we'd chosen was closed, and the alternative was nearly another mile. Met two friends - had excellent food and beers. Back to the Airbnb. The final friend arrived after midnight as they were travelling from southern France. Continued to chat and drink until 3am.
