A Driveway

In a nearby town that most people just drive through, there are some very quiet, very beautiful spots if one strays the tiniest bit off the main roads.

Funny thing about this town - Almost every side street that branches off the main, ends. The side street may have its own branches too, but they end as well.

It was one of these obscure side streets, where we followed the main branch ignoring the side branches until we met its end, which is this private driveway.

As the crow flies, only a mile from the center of town, but by the roads, over four miles, and seemingly very remote.

What a joy it must be to leave town and travel quietly off the beaten path to your cozy home at the end of the road. Some might call it a dead end, but I would call it a very live end indeed!
