NBA Champions 2009

Kobe Bryant's LA Lakers were crowned NBA champions on Tuesday after defeating the Orlando Magic 4-1 in the best of seven series. Kobe finally proved to the world that he could a championship without Shaq. They had won 3 together 2000-02.

It was a shame that we didn't see the Finals match-up everyone was expecting - Kobe vs Lebron. Unfortunately, the Cavs had match-up problems with the Magic and were beaten by them in 6 after having swept their opponents in the first two rounds. Lebron was the league MVP and Kobe would have wanted to prove that he should have been the MVP.

I won't remember much about the Finals because I only got to see Game1, which was a blowout anyway. My Sky+ box decided to go on the blink just at the worst possible time and I couldn't record any of the other games. It was very frustrating.
