Lunchtime Errors

A cold gale blowing from the north, bringing showers, sleet, haily-puckles and snow.   The odd sunny spell too.

Early shift in the airport again today, and a busy day.  The ferry to and from Shetland cancelled, so extra last minute bookings.  We did suffer a few disruptions, mostly with the large ATR-72, but most made it in and out on time, with a bumpy ride.  I've mostly been working on the check-in desk.  Popped by Laura's on my way home.  A chilly walk with Sammy this evening, now feet up.  Niece Eve has been with mam most of the day, also cousin Craig, and dad made it down late afternoon.  Not much change, mam is still in pain, but they have been doing tests and monitoring, hoping to hear word of an operation tomorrow.  Lovely to speak with mam tonight on the phone, always a cheery voice.

After a busy morning of passengers, my long awaited lunchtime arrived.  The sun was bright in the sky, off I set for a brisk walk.  It wasn't long into my wad walk, when my judgement error came to a chilly end.  A horrible sleety shower passed over, soaked me and froze me.  Live and learn, probably do it again soon.  That horrid wintery cloud passing o er my head, Toab, Virkie.
