Stills

Woke up with the full-on cold that didn't arrive properly on Monday. What a stinker.

However, since I'd paid for the tickets we went to the new Port of Leith Distillery for a tour - it had been organised for the WoL volunteers so there was a discount. They haven't quite started production yet, although they had some samples of raw "hearts" from experimental brews they've been doing in Glasgow. Fascinating how different two of these were when the only difference was in the yeast (Swedish v. Belgian). We toured from top to bottom - all lovely shiny new kit. I particularly liked the copper stills. Here you see them with some of the tour party reflected in the windows. The view in daylight must be wonderful - this direction would be over the Western harbour towards Fife. We nipped up to the 8th floor bar for a keek at the view - think we could make out Braefoot and possible the 'Minor Light' flashing on Inchcolm.
