Aubergine (the end)
We were due to go out on the complementary boat trip to see the seal pups on Inchkeith, but the weather forecast intervened. Storm Bert duly arrived, although it seemed to treat Leith pretty gently. Just freezing slush on the pavements on our way to the market, which was much reduced - no stalls erected because of the wind forecast, so just a few hardy souls like Phantassie and Peelham selling produce from the back of their vans.
I cooked an aubergine curry thing, and took the opportunity to investigate the tiny aubergine that grew on our windowsill. It seemed OK on the inside, and so I piled it in with the big one, and we ate it. Tasted as much of aubergine as they ever do. And I'm posting this the day after, so there were no ill effects!
