Allium at the roadside

I had to go and feed the vampires at the Health Centre this morning in preparation for my hospital appointment next Tuesday. I went the scenic route down the lanes and spotted this lovely purple Allium (and a friend) growing on one of the verges. I've no idea how they came to be there, I presume they have self-seeded as they are nowhere near any houses. But for it's sheer determination to grow in such an unlikely place, I have made it my blip for today!
