Old Sign, Old Bridge

This lovely old sign sits on the approach to a lovely old humped bridge that straddles the River Dene at Kineton. It has been in need of attention for some time now and it was good to see that it has been cleaned, repainted and the surrounding undergrowth cut back to reveal its full glory once more. However, if you look closely you'll notice some things are missing from the sign - namely the lovely brass screw-in plaques that announce the various weight limits permitted on the bridge. I'm hoping these have been taken away for cleaning and will be replaced and that they haven't been lost or stolen during the refurbishment. These limits were set at the beginning of the 20th Century but they seem to be totally ignored today as goods vehicles frequently pass over this small bridge... let's hope it can take the strain!
