Ice in the afternoon

This picture was taken at nearly 2pm, after the sun had been shining down on the garden all day long! The pond is ice-free but this shallow dish hasn't totally thawed.

After the trip to see the castle lights last night I ended up with a running nose but thought it was due to the cold weather. Sadly, I woke up in the night with a sore throat and head, and it hasn't improved today.

Going to take a Covid test shortly. I've heard of a few people with it, and varying effects, but don't think I got whatever this is from them as we haven't been in recent company.
