RD at Maldon Prom parkrun

Bitter cold at the Prom but heartwarming to work with such a lovely group of volunteers at today's parkrun. So many of the runners thanked me and the team of volunteers as they ran round. It made me feel fantastic. 2 brand new volunteers loved it so much they signed up for next week too. 2 volunteers were held up in traffic, so could not make it for the start - without them the run might not have been possible - no need to worry as  we had 2 replacement volunteers who quickly took their place - one doing timekeeping for the first time. Beryl a parkrunner over 80 years old was celebrating her 250th parkrun - an inspiration to everyone there. I had lots of lovely conversations with many of the runners. All in all a very enjoyable event which made me feel proud.
