The calm after the storm

What a wild morning we had. We knew we were getting a lot of wind and rain and that's what happened. It was so quick, though. It started raining around 4 am and the wind was gusting up to 40 mph some times. It always is unsettling because our house shakes in the wind.
And  then the power went out, not unexpectedly. I couldn't do anything in my studio without power and it was so dark, I just went back to bed. And then the power came back on by 9:30 am. That was unexpected. So I had to wake up again.  We put the lights on the tree and I got myself ready to go out to the studio.
I finished an exam and did a little work and then a good friend called whom I haven't talked to in quite a while so I just decided to bag it for the day after that. The wind had gone and there was quite a bit of blue sky so it was a nice afternoon for a walk.
