Break Out

Home again. No cakes today though, too much other stuff going on (cancelled meeting re book needed rearranging, solicitor needed phoning etc.) so falling back on my favourite thing. And naturally, it is one of my favourite flowers*

This is a peony bud, approximately the size of a marble. It develops into a huge ballgown of flounciness about the size of a side plate. It seems impossible that something so fabulous can come out of something so small.

Nature really is wonderful.

*yes, yes ok. I admit it. Nearly every flower is my favourite. They all have something fascinating about them. Especially up close and personal :)
