Emergency shortbread

It was a glorious day with lots of sunshine and blue sky, although there was  a frost on the ground. I suppose frost and good weather often go hand in hand at this time of year.
Nick and Bertie spent much of the day at the community orchard to do some preparation for the weekend. Meanwhile, I stayed at home and made our Christmas cake. I love the smell that is lingering around the house. I also had a relaxing hour when my sister-in-law called in for a coffee and we caught up with our news and put the world to rights.
I bought this tin at the craft show at the weekend and it is full of lovely shortbread produced at the Island Bakery. Just the thing to go with a cup of coffee.
