Who Knew?!
Last night Asha discovered that Nate can read a lot better than any of us realised!!! He woke today with his chest bad and a very swollen right eye, so he stayed home and spent most of the time buried in a book! He spells out the words he doesn't know and he's doing so so well!
My morning totally changed shape with him being off, so I made a sweet and sour chicken dish in the slow cooker. There were definitely more steps to it than my usual throw-everything-in meals!
Danny and I were meant to have a meeting with Caritas this morning, the big charity here, but Danny did that solo. We were honoured to have coffee with the head honcho of it all, Gustavo. Sad to have missed that. Danny came back with a deepened relationship with him and ways they could do with our support, and their backing in ways we may need theirs. A good partnership!
Tonight we had community dinner and discussion. Good to have time with Gemma, Stephen and Mitch, and to hear it's a highlight of Asha's week - which is good as it's one of ways of 'doing/being' church.
Today I'm grateful for;
1) Nate coughing a bit less this evening.
2) Nate's new discovery of big books, as he calls them.
3) Real chat about life and faith after dinner tonight.
I forgot the best bit of the day!! Finding a homeless guy we've been looking for for weeks and weeks!! He lost touch with his family 20 years ago and they want to talk with him! Soooo delighted to find him and to start to put a plan in place...
