Carpet Sharks, about 600mm long.

The wildlife here still surprises me. I was fishing off the beach when these two came wandering along past the sting rays and right to my feet in water so shallow that they were breaking the surface. I caught a few Kahawai, too small, and a Blue Cod (on a spinner? Yep!). Closed season for Blue Cod so I slipped him back into the sea. The Weka as always was looking for anything so I gave him a very alive small fish. That kept him busy for ages so I went back up the hill to home with my one big enough fish that made Connie smile....
