An early start

It was my turn to drive down to Craignure to collect the weekly organic fruit and veg order for our local group. I was very relieved to see the gritting lorry turn into Glen Bellart about half an hour before I was due to set off. It had been another frosty night last night and that road doesn’t always get gritted. As it turned out, the roads were fine and it was an enjoyable journey, except when the low sun shone directly in my eyes, below the level of the visor!
Later in the morning, two friends and I accompanied a redoubtable local lady for a special lunch at the Western Isles Hotel in Tobermory to celebrate her 90th birthday. The view from the conservatory dining room was at its very best in the clear, sunny weather. We all thoroughly enjoyed our outing and we three slightly younger ladies were in awe of our older friend who was as bright as a button, very independent and fully in possession of all her wits. The extra shows the four of us after our most enjoyable lunch.
