Touched by the sunset

Basil and I walked out with Cecily around 2.45 this afternoon. Already too late really but the light was fantastic.

By the time we reached Garendon Park and I let Basil off his lead for a run, he thoroughly enjoyed himself. We had been cooped up for too long. The leaves and grasses in the verges were covered with hoar frost.

There was cloud but the sunset glow was glorious. These trees on the top of the ridge still had leaves that glowed in the sunset.

Almost home, we stopped at Helen's to say Hello. She was crocheting a blanket. I thought she seemed a bit low. David spends most of his afternoons boozing at T'Mucky Duck.

We stayed for a cuppa and then came back home.

I watched Mark Littlejohn's presentation about toning his photography on My Photo Club this evening and have tried to introduce the technique with this photo emphasising the glow of the foliage and the understated blue in the sky.
