The Dome 1/12/23

It may well have been the coldest morning so far this winter, but what did the coven of MerryWidows care for details like that? We were out for a jaunt to the Dome in George Street to celebrate two birthdays with a Breakfast Tea as opposed to an Afternoon one. We had no snow to navigate and the sun shone in a celebratory way.
The Dome as usual was completely over the top with festive decoration but it all added to the atmosphere as we were each presented with our 3 tier cake stand of sandwiches, pastries, scones and a yogurt dessert.

I have to say it  looked a challenge but at least two of us rose to the occasion but with the good old saying ‘waste not want not’ ringing in our ears, 2 doggie bags went home with us.
Between mouthfuls we discussed an assortment of topics, agreeing that we could sort out the ills, little or large of the world if only we had the chance.  No drink was involved.
Thank you Sheila for a wonderfully indulgent morning.

Two hours later we emerged blinking into the sunshine and into what felt like tsunami of people  in George Street, mostly herds of women. The men were thin on the ground. I wonder where they were.

I’m amazed how quickly Fridays seem to come around these days. I’m not sure why they seem to appear so fast, but they are most welcome as it means a TGIF drinks day with the neighbours. My coat is at hand, I’m ready to go.
