1st Day of Advent

The first day of Advent and not a calendar in sight and so terrible a Grandmother am I that none of the 12 grandchildren will be in receipt of one from me. I feel as though I’ve done my bit for the family this year and am ready for a rest. I’m sure their parents will step up to the mark and provide the little doors with the sliver of chocolate behind to open for the next 25 days.

The Merry Widows met for coffee this morning  and the world has been re arranged once more by us - a new world much more  to our liking.
It was a very mild day  and I had a walk round the Meadows after lunch  and took this blip as I looked back at the dreaming spires of Quartermile.

I have the box of Christmas cards out in front of me and the intent to write just as many as the stamps I have. Any more will be e-cards. Gone are the days when over 100 cards were sent by post at Christmas. Nowadays one almost needs a mortgage to buy a sheet of stamps.
