A Tutu and a Teddy

It's a little difficult to sort out what's what but she is definitely all little girl. I captured her somewhat surreptitiously at the farmers' market this morning. The kids are often one of the best things.

It's quite dreich and drizzly today, but we had already decided to serve quiche from the quiche lady at the farmers' market to our neighbors Bruce and Cindy tonight.  We were glad to see that the quiche lady was there, as was the bakery lady who rocks up in her Tesla with a massive cargo of delicious pastries.  Dinner sorted. Cindy is a picky eater and adamantly refused to even try one of our fuyu persimmons (although she took a bagful for a friend) even though I assured her that they are nothing like the mushy hachiya type that I grew up disliking. I decided I'm going to sneak some into our salad tonight and see what she says. It's probably wishful thinking that she won't notice since they are such a beautiful orange color.

For ourselves, we got Thai  crepinettes  and Italian sausages from the sausage guy and the last flower bouquet and some delicata squash and radicchio from the guy whose wife grows the flowers and makes the unusual bouquets.

We staggered back to the car with our bags of goodies, telling Dana that we would wait for her in the car. I took the picture in extras when I noticed the 'driver' next to us. The reflections on the windows of the car are from the lights in the roof of the parking lot. The farmers' market is always about a lot more than the food

By the time I got back to Dana's house, she had left for the cut-your-own-Christmas tree place in Sebastopol. We used to go there too, but it is spread over many hilly acres and Dana likes to look at every tree and then go back and look at them all again before she chooses one. She always has a very large, beautifully and carefully decorated tree, but she has worn out a lot of potential companions.... We did say we would help her get it into the house,  although I'm not sure we would be that much help.

I did my 20 minutes on her Peloton , watched by Blake and Sassy the three legged cat, and was out of there before she got back.

Time to make that persimmon salad....
