Rum from Rùm

Hallival, Askival, Ainshaval and Trallval -the Rum Cuillen. Too extreme for me but Robert and Alexander did it back in the early 2000s. I think Alexander and Matthew did it again a few years later on their own. For all of us Rùm is a favourite place and I was thrilled to get one of the last bottles of Askival Rum which will make a surprise Christmas gift for the boys. It is fermented, distilled and bottled on the island. Unfortunately the business is closing and the last bottles have all been sold.

The snow persists, although the temperature is one degree higher than yesterday and slush is beginning to appear. It was enough to deter some folk and I managed to get into both Pilates classes this morning, the first advanced one I’ve done. I survived although I shall be a tad stiff in the morning.
