The latest construction on the allotment

I have been thinking of how to construct a tunnel for the brassicas for a while. How could I use the large quantity of yellow piping I'd acquired? Then, as we were discussing the issue with our friends it occurred to us that the frame of a gazebo could be used to make the uprights.

Strangely enough I'd bought a gazebo last year on the recoomendation of our friends to use for just this purpose. £14.99 from Argos in the end of season sale but had decided it was the wrong shape. A bit of cannibalisation and here you see the results. Still have plenty of poles to use for other constructions as well.

So that's 3 major construction projects in the last few weeks - the tunnel over the strawberries, the duckboard walkways and now the brassica tunnel. What next I wonder?

Earlier we'd been for a swim at The Village, followed by a coffee. First swim since the end of April. I expect we'll sleep well tonight.
