Our Day
We were up late reading last night so everyone slept in. The snow started to fall around 9:00 am. For many of you, snow is not exciting. But for us, it is so unusual that we are as excited as little children. There was no accumulation, just the beauty of seeing it fall. The flakes show up best with an evergreen in the background. My sister found the Advent wreath I bought each family a few year ago and it now graces the table. We took our BIL to New Martinsville for his belated birthday meal. The small town restaurant is known for its homemade country cooking. American presidents and other famous people have eaten there. My favorites are the fish filets and wide variety of fresh vegetables. Everyone found more than enough including cherry pie and ice cream. No dinner will be made in this house tonight. We mailed our packages and the postage was ridiculous. From there, we walked around town and got some photos of Christmas lights. We stopped at one shop and found a few more gifts. Then we replaced a few perishable groceries that we’ve used up. It was still snowing/melting as we headed back up to the farm. It is a Kindle evening. Hubby’s pilgrimage to Greece has finally been rescheduled for the second time. He will be there for 10 days in September 2024. Chase and Mackenzie have recovered from the respiratory illness and returned to school. All good news today. Hope the same is true for you. Stay safe. Thanks so much for your visits and stars. "Love Christmas, not just because of the presents but because of all the decorations and lights and the warmth of the season." — Ashley Tisdale
