‘Parsnip’ the reindeer

My friend has four real reindeer…the original two are called Rudolph and Prancer. To choose the names for the two they got last year they decided to run a poll with suggested names and votes( on Facebook I think) . So the two most popular names were Parsnip and Sprout! This is Parsnip. They are very friendly and eat very gently from your hand. The velvet on their antlers is really really soft and velvety when you feel it.

We left the farm this morning to drive to have lunch at a farm shop restaurant near Wincanton racecourse ( the race meeting scheduled for today had been cancelled) with my husbands brother and wife. It was a nice simple lunch and they had a very good farm shop too and we may order some meat from there.

The journey back up the A303 and M3 was OK traffic wise but raining all the way. We are pleased to be home!
