Baking
Although it is only Thursday, rather than Friday (as I've been mistakenly thinking for much of the day) it is only just over a week till we go on holiday. So W decided this morning to use up the buttermilk. Two soda breads - to be sliced and frozen, two "rusk" loaves - to freeze as is, then in the New Year, defrosted, cut up into smaller pieces and further dried.
The important corner of the kitchen, in the background, has been slightly rearranged over the months, but goodness, how much lighter it is with the new paint job.
Whilst W was baking, I tackled admin of various sorts. And then we took a trip into New Ross to drop off some mail that has been delivered here for our vendor with the Estate Agent (who told W they have no forwarding address, but will pass on to the solicitor!)
And then to the hairdresser. Now both shorn, ready for our holiday.
And home, where I did some fluting. Now, baked potatoes are in the oven, and we're relaxing with a gin.
