Day 3 - Bogota
This was a very busy day, so much that I haven't had a chance to process and images for my Flickr set. We began at the Gold museum - for me it sounded boring, but it turned out to be very interesting. After lunch, we walked the city. This image was made while walking to the main square. It photos I had seen prior to arriving, it was an empty square surrounded by government buildings and a cathedral. Still the same, although the square was preparing for both Christmas decorations and a graduation ceremony for a civil defense group. The pigeons and the feeding of these birds continued.
The highlight of the visit to the main market was the tasting of many of the Colombian fruits not often seen outside the border. We took the cable car to up the mountain to Mount Serrate, modeled after the famous Spanish edifice. We also had a lovely dinner.
The high season has begun, and along with a 4 day holiday weekend, crowds and traffic were unbelievable.
