OFA Day two...

Whilst we could cover a lot of the learning indoors yesterday, today is about putting it into practice, whatever* the conditions.

Clockwise from top left:

As I was setting up a scenario with one of the group I looked up see see Tara leading the rest of them in an "Anti-Rain Dance"..... it didn't work...

Obviously each scenario is designed to be run as a knowledge test but I believe it should also add in an element of additional learning. Here we're considering the risk of a trauma induced stroke, showing the power of care and connection ("can you squeeze my hands? " tells me (& the casualty) so much more than "can you raise your arms?"). We're also considering that research shows mild to moderate head trauma can make someone 10x more likely to experience a subsequent stroke. Another reason all head injuries should go to hospital.

Everybody loves the 2 buffs magic knot trick...

If you go down to the woods today.... It's going to be a surpringly safe place to have an accident!

Hmmmm, I wonder what might be not quite right here?...

A really lovely bunch made a really wet and miserable weekend into something really rather special. 8 strong passes, yeay.

*obviously a lot of dynamic assessment taking place, lots of watching the water levels and paying attention to wind strength.
