Lesser Goldfinch

I posted my blip for yesterday a moment ago. Take a look at Don't do this at home if you have time.

Many of the otherwise brightly colored birds have paler plumage in the winter. This lesser goldfinch is a prime example. I think it's nature helping to protect them from predators. With less foliage in which to hide, they'd be too easy to see. This is a female which isn't that bright to begin with.

I've had a touch of a stomach bug all day. Maybe it was all of the cauliflower I ate at the Singles group Christmas party Saturday.  I'm sure I'll feel better tomorrow.

In other news...the Buffalo Bills finally won a close game, 20-17 over the reigning Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs. That would be like winning a ‘soccer’ match 3-2.

A man and a beautiful woman were having dinner in a fine restaurant. Their waitress (taking another order at a table a few paces away) suddenly noticed that the man was slowing sliding down his chair and under the table, but the woman acted unconcerned.
The waitress watched as the man slid all the way down his chair and out of sight under the table.
Still, the woman dining across from him appeared calm and unruffled, apparently unaware that her dining companion had disappeared.

After the waitress finished taking the order, she came over to the table and said to the woman, "Pardon me, ma'am, but I think your husband just slid under the table.
The woman calmly looked up at her and replied, "No he didn't. He just walked in the door."
