This Once Was . . .

a skein of yarn, and beautiful it was too.  Unfortunately, I left it on the floor for quite a while, and the moths got to it.  Then I was using it as a source of colour for multi-exposure blips.  And finally, I vowed to wind it off anyway, tie the ends as best I could, and knit it with the loose ends facing outwards.  In theory, this would make rag-rug type socks, with ends sticking out.  I had hoped to have it balled up before going to Inverness last week.  Alas, I didn't, and it's been sitting ever since.  I used it for a blip today, and still need to finish winding it off.
